Digital

Health

(research area)

Health data that can be found, shared and trusted: FAIR data, digital health systems and secure medical IoT.

For hospital and public health research teams, digital health programmes, NGOs and funders.

From 2020 to 2023 I worked as a data expert with VODAN Africa and Kampala International University, installing Linux servers and deploying FAIR Data Points in hospitals across Uganda, and working on data governance, quality, privacy and training. I am a certified FAIR Data Steward (Level 3).

I have co-authored three papers in Data Intelligence (MIT Press, 2022) on FAIR data and health information in Uganda, and a review of cybersecurity for AI-enabled medical IoT in smart cities (2023).

I can join your project to design the study, set up and manage the data, analyse it, and report the findings.

With Kampala International University (2020-2023): Linux servers and FAIR Data Points deployed in hospitals across Uganda, with data governance, quality, privacy and training. The project record is on OSF.

The Motion Analysis Research Laboratory at the Islamic University in Uganda, where I work, runs projects on intelligent IoT for infectious disease outbreaks, a WASH project for rural schools funded by ICESCO, automated hand-washing dispensers for the COVID-19 response, and wearable monitoring for elderly people.

How I

Help

Research questions, sampling, questionnaires and data collection tools for clinical, facility and community studies.

Statistics, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and machine learning in R, Python, SPSS and SmartPLS, explained so your team can defend every result.

Data management plans, FAIR Data Points, data quality, privacy and governance, from a certified FAIR Data Steward (Level 3).

Server set-up, system deployment and interoperability, and security reviews for health data systems and medical IoT.

Technical reports, journal papers and policy briefs that turn the analysis into clear findings and recommendations.

Hands-on training for health and data teams on FAIR data, analysis and the tools you use.

How It

Works

01

Free call

We talk for 30 minutes about your project, your data and what you need from a research partner. You leave with a clear next step.

02

Plan

You get a written plan: my role, the methods, the timeline and what you will receive, with a clear quote or a budget line for your proposal.

03

Deliver & report

I do the work with your team, explain every step, and deliver the findings in the form you need: tables, reports, papers or a policy brief.
